The Office of the Auditor-General's cleared Health New Zealand of claims it misrepresented Nelson Hospital's waiting list numbers

Senior doctors and nurses last year raised concerns some patients were being removed from first specialist appointment lists without being seen.
The audit followed revelations the hospital had staffing delays, ageing facilities, and rising demand.
Assistant Auditor-General Russell Bates says review of 24 cases backed Health NZ's explanation, with all patients only taken off the list after attending appointments.
It's welcoming the finding.
