A Canterbury-based e-scooter company is one of two going on trial in the Selwyn District

A Canterbury-based e-scooter company is one of two going on trial in the Selwyn District

The Selwyn District Council has become the first non-major centre in the country to trial e-scooters - subject to a pending bylaw.

Councillor Craig Watson says they'll be using two brands - Lime and Lava.

He says Lava is particularly special.

Watson says it's a smaller company - run by a couple who live in the district.
