    Wellington Airport's unveiled plans for a billion-dollar revamp as it prepares for passenger numbers to nearly double by 2040

    The Airport's 2040 Master Plan reveals plans to flip around the international and regional terminals, which will also be expanded and redesigned.

    Part of the revamp includes plans to purchase half of the Miramar golf club's land for aircraft parking.

    The airport's expecting 12 million people to be using the airport each year by 2040, almost double the numbers they have now.

    The redevelopment is due to begin in the next five years.
