All Whites coach Danny Hay feels it would be unfair to deny some players an international cap for the sake of their club

Phoenix pair Alex Rufer and Tim Payne will start against Lithuania tomorrow, with Liberato Cacace and Callum McCowatt to be options off the bench.

'Nix coach Ufuk Talay would prefer they didn't feature, with a trip to Brisbane coming up in the A-League.

Hay says while he's trying to build a relationship with the Phoenix, the players would be gutted if they were told they couldn't play.
