The players have spoken...and named Ardie Savea and Charmaine McMenamin as their New Zealand international players of the year

The winners of the New Zealand Rugby Players Association awards have been announced, with Savea and McMenamin taking their respective gongs for their body of work with All Blacks and Black Ferns in 2019.

Ruby Tui, who won the World Sevens player of the year last month, has also been voted by her peers as best women's player with Tone Ng Shiu claiming the men's sevens award.

Crusaders flyer Sevu Reece claimed Players' Super Rugby player of the year, while Bay of Plenty's Chase Tiatia won the Mitre10 Cup award.

Young men's player of the year went to Bay of Plenty speedster Emoni Narawa, who will play for the Blues in Super Rugby next year.

The New Zealand Rugby Awards are Thursday night.
