Concerns around the Government's job proposals

Concerns around the Government's job proposals

Labour has announced a five-step plan to tackle the economic fallout from Covid-19 - which includes investing in people, creating jobs - and positioning New Zealand on the world stage.

Principal economist Peter Wilson from the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research says we need to see more details.

He says a lot of their job proposals seem to be about spending money on building things out of concrete, or sending people into the bush to clean up the environment -- which aren't long term solutions.
