Reserve Bank Governor Adrian Orr's revealed the events of the last 24 hours did not sway the decision to expand the Quantitative Easing programme

The Large Scale Asset Purchase Programme is being expanded from 60 billion dollars to 100 billion dollars.

Orr says last night's announcement Auckland and the rest of the country is moving alert levels on the back on new covid-19 cases did not materially impact today's decision.

He says that's because they've been operating for some time under baseline economic scenarios rather than precise predictions.
