There are calls for more educational support during lockdown for families with children living with disabilities

There are calls for more educational support during lockdown for families with children living with disabilities

Schools across the Auckland region have been forced to close under Alert level 3, after new cases of community transmission were reported on Tuesday.

Auckland University's Disability Studies professor Missy Morton says there needs to be resources for parents to ensure they can keep up with their child's educational needs during this time.

She says some advice and guidance would support parents to be parents, rather than forcing them to take up the role of a teacher.
