Records have fallen following the hands of Glenn Phillips

Records have fallen following the hands of Glenn Phillips

The Black Caps batsman's starred in the second Twenty20 cricket international against the West Indies in Mount Maunganui, which his side's won by 72 runs, restricting their visitors to 166 for nine.

Earlier the hosts posted 238 for three in their 20 overs, led by 108 from Phillips.

His hundred coming in 46 balls - the fastest by a New Zealander in T20 internationals.

He and Devon Conway put on a 184-run third wicket partnership, an all-time record for New Zealand in the format.

Phillips then took two catches, one of them a diving one close to the boundary, and had a run-out.

New Zealand claims the three match series with a game to spare, which is tomorrow, also at Bay Oval.
