    Confirmation of a big overseas move for Phoenix footballer Finn Surman


    The 20-year-old All Whites defender will join Major League Soccer side the Portland Timbers after the Paris Olympics.

    Surman's signed a deal through until the end of the 2026 season - with a club option for 2027.

    The lofty centre-back is the Phoenix's third academy graduate to lock in a move to a major offshore league during this transfer window - along with Alex Paulsen and Ben Old.
