New Zealand Rugby League are in support of shortening the NRL season in order to widen the international window

Numerous players claim the 27-round regular season is too long, while there's been no Anzac test since 2017.

Australian Rugby League Commissioner Peter V'Landys suggested last month the season could reduce to 19 rounds, should the competition expand to 20 teams.

NZRL boss Greg Peters says the NRL has to factor in the commercial value through broadcasters and sponsors.
