Auckland Police are hunting Kael Leona - after the fatal stabbing of a woman on a bus in Onehunga yesterday

Auckland Police are hunting Kael Leona - after the fatal stabbing of a woman on a bus in Onehunga yesterday

People should not approach the 37-year-old if they see him, and call 111.

Court documents reveal he was due in court today, for obstructing a police officer.

Police say it appears the victim and suspect were near each other for some time on the bus, but did NOT know each other.

Acting Detective Inspector, Alisse Robertson says, no passengers intervened in the stabbing, but assisted the victim after.

She says there were nine passengers, who've all given Police full accounts of what they saw.
