Much of the centre of the country has been shaken by a strong earthquake this morning
21 March 2025
A 4.8 quake struck 10 kilometres south of Seddon near the top of the South Island, just before 8:30 this morning, at a depth of 9 kilometres.
It was felt widely in the capital, and as far south as Christchurch.
