Christopher Walken is focused on living in the moment as he hits 82

'The Deer Hunter' actor, who celebrated the milestone on Monday (31.03.25), reflected on his decades-long career and what lies ahead in a chat with People

He dec lared to the publication about how he was handling the age: "I'm doing what I've always done."

Christopher, who has starred in an array of acclaimed films and television series, also stressed he doesn't overthink his future.

He added: "People think that actors make a lot of choices. I'm not sure that they do. I certainly don't.

"I take the job, the next best thing, because that's what I do. I go to work."

When asked about his future plans, the actor added, "So what comes next? I have no idea, but I never have. Generally, when I finish a job, I don't know what's coming next."

But he chuckled he was looking forward to "being healthy and staying alive" in 2025.

Despite his age, the star's career is still thriving - with recent roles in 'Dune: Part Two' and the critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series 'Severance'.

The show sees Christopher portrays Burt Goodman, a former employee of Lumon Industries, who develops a complex relationship with Irving Bailiff, played by John Turturro.

Fans have applauded the chemistry between the two actors, and Christopher attributes their connection to the decades of friendship they share.

He said: "I think that the fact that we know each other very well for a long time was very useful.

"We didn't have to struggle to make our relationship real or believable. I think you look at it and you see that John and I know each other, that we like each other."

Apple TV+ recently renewed 'Severance' for a third season, and Christopher is also set to reunite with his 'Pulp Fiction' co-star John Travolta in the upcoming romantic comedy 'That's Amore!'

When not acting, he said he spends his free time watching films from the past.

Christopher added: "I tend to watch a lot of old movies. Maybe it's just because that's pretty much all I get on my technology, but yeah, I watch a lot of old movies."
