Erica Stanford's confident there's a way to restrict social media use for young people

Erica Stanford's confident there's a way to restrict social media use for young people

The Education Minister's been tasked with exploring options around limits for under-16s.

She will bring ideas on how to implement this to Cabinet.

Stanford says she's already had conversations with people involved in legislative changes in other countries, including the EU.

She says there's an opportunity for us to learn from the best in the world at what's worked - and create something for New Zealand.

Catherine Wedd's member's bill to outright ban social media remains in the ballot.
