    A late surge has lifted Fox to an opening round four under par 66.

    The New Zealand number one made birdie at the 11th, 16th and 18th holes after making the turn at one under.

    Fox is five shots back of the clubhouse lead held by Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen .
