Airline capacity's bouncing back more slowly than hoped

Airline capacity's bouncing back more slowly than hoped

The most recent International Visitor Survey shows international spending has hit more than 12-billion dollars in the year to June - up by around 4-percent.

It shows nearly 3.4 million people visited in the year to June, up almost 200-thousand on the year prior.

Tourism New Zealand CEO René de Monchy says they've been working to entice airlines back to New Zealand, to get to pre-covid capacity.

He says they're hoping to get up to 95 to 96-percent of capacity over summer.
