Police say the discovery of a new campsite shows Tom Phillips had outside help

Police say the discovery of a new campsite shows Tom Phillips had outside help

The fugitive father was shot dead by police early Monday morning - with his children recovered - and now in state care.

The newest campsite is 200 metres over difficult terrain from the first site uncovered on Monday - and is now being examined by Police.

They believe this has been the main campsite of the family in recent months - and includes a tent and a dedicated cooking area.

Items at the site include gas bottles, a portable stove, and various drink bottles.

Police say he was clearly receiving assistance outside of the burglaries he committed.
