The Wallabies have axed first five Ben Donaldson for the two Bledisloe Cup tests in favour of their England-bound Crusaders Super Rugby champion

James O'Connor - who's flown out to prepare for the new English Premiership season with Leicester - has been called back to Joe Schmidt's squad for the tests against the All Blacks, beginning next Saturday at Eden Park.

O'Connor could head straight to Auckland, with the Wallabies to arrive in the City of Sails on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Waratahs halfback Jake Gordon has overcome a hamstring injury to return.
