A 35-year-old man will appear in court tomorrow after a laser was pointed at two planes at Wellington Airport

    Wellington Airport
    Wellington Airport
At around 6.45 last night, Air Traffic Control reported a plane preparing to land was targeted by a laser.

Five minutes later a second plane reported the same.

It's believed the laser came from Stokes Valley.

Police say a officer was in the area and within ten minutes a man was located allegedly with a laser and taken into custody.

Authorities say pointing a laser at any aircraft is extremely dangerous and offenders will be held to account.
