    An electric-scooter rider travelling in the wrong direction in Central Auckland early this morning, was injured after crashing with a car - then fled the scene


    Police received reports just after 4.30am, of the e-scooter heading southbound on State Highway 1, in the northbound lane.

    The rider crashed near the Port/Symonds Street exit - and was found a short time later not far from the scene, with minor injuries.
