Paraguay's hopes of qualifying for the 2027 Rugby World Cup have been dashed before a ball's been passed in the Final Qualification Tournament

The South American nation were vying for the last World Cup spot alongside Samoa, Namibia and Belgium.

However, it's been discovered that Paraguay fielded an ineligible player in their two-leg play-off against Brazil that saw them advance to the final qualifier.

Brazil will replace Paraguay in the four-team line-up.
