Donald Trump's wife "hates" his dancing

The US president's moves were a big part of his election campaign and while he thinks all his supporters are keen to see his routines, First Lady Melania Trump told him they are "not presidential" and told him Frankin D. Roosevelt would never have done the same.

Speaking at the House Republicans' retreat at the Kennedy Center - where he turned heads with an apparent pink tinge to his hair - Trump said: "She hates when I dance. I said, 'everybody wants me to dance'.

"I have to say this. The dancing they really like.

"She said, 'They don't like it, they're just being nice to you.' I said, 'That's not true. The place goes crazy!'

"'Darling, it's not presidential'... she actually said 'could you imagine FDR dancing?', she said that to me.

"And I said that there's a long history that perhaps she doesn't know. Because he was an elegant fellow, even as a Democrat, right, the attack by Japan, you know, he was quite elegant, but he wouldn't be doing this, but, but nor would too many others.

"But she says, 'Darling, please, the weight lifting is terrible."

The former Apprentice star's dancing ability has also been criticised by professionals who insisted he is too "stiff" and shows little movement.

Brandon Chow, the founder of Hip Hop Dance Junkies, told The Guardian newspaper: "On a scale of one to 10, I would say three. Three or four max.

"The arms are there, the arms are very stiff, though - they're not really moving. It's literally him with his fists tight and his arms to his side.

"I mean, there is no movement where he's leaving his comfort zone or his space. He's literally just stepping in place, side to side, hips swaying."

Trump's remarks at the event were largely overshadowed by his hair, with social media users branding him a "clown in make-up".

One X user wrote: "His hair looks like pink cotton candy."

Another wrote: "How does he not see pics like these, notice the color difference between his hands/wrists and face and not wonder if maybe he should dial down the pumpkin latte pancake makeup?"

And a third laughed: "He is literally a clown in makeup... what color is that meant to be! It's green in places!"
