A secondary teacher's avoided serious punishment, after flipping a trailer carrying 15 students

Four students were taken to hospital when the Horowhenua College teacher took them for a ride following a school fundraiser in 2022.

Open Justice reports Dylan Kiriona was charged with careless driving causing injury...the charge was then withdrawn following support from parents.

Kiriona's appeared before the Teachers' Disciplinary Tribunal, who say his behaviour amounted to serious misconduct, but his teaching registration won't be suspended.
