    Censure for a Palmerston North DHB ... after an elderly woman was given an antipsychotic drug without consent


    The Mental Health Commissioner's found MidCentral DHB in breach of its Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights.

    Today's report shows the DHB admitted an elderly woman to its mental health ward despite her daughter's protests, and didn't have a guardian's permission to give an antipsychotic drug.

    Commissioner Kevin Allan's recommended more staff training, and an audit of informed medical consent.
