A neighbour of a woman who was found dead in Rotorua on Monday afternoon, says she was told by police the woman died a terrible violent death

A 52-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder; he was remanded in custody and will reappear next month.

Another pair of people have suffered critical injuries, Police believe the two incidents are linked.

The neighbour has told our newsroom the woman was a loner, but that in the past month there had been a vehicle at the flat.
