A man has been charged with murder, in relation to a woman's death in Christchurch's Mount Pleasant last evening - and is fronting court today

The woman was found dead at a Mount Pleasant Road property around 5pm.

Detective Inspector Joel Syme says police are establishing the movements of both the victim and the person charged, from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon.

He says they're not seeking anyone else in relation to the investigation.

A forensic examination of the address is being carried out over the next few days.
