The person charged over the death of a woman at a home in Christchurch's Mount Pleasant, was known to the victim

A man is in custody on a charge of murder, after the discovery of the woman's body on Monday night.

Police say she died three days earlier.

Detective Inspector Scott Anderson has described the incident as isolated, and say they're not seeking anyone else.

He says officers are still keen to hear from anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious between 10am Friday and 4pm Sunday, in the area of Mount Pleasant Road or Belleview Terrace.
