Gaps in funding for blood cancer drugs - compared with Australia

Gaps in funding for blood cancer drugs - compared with Australia

The Cancer Control Agency's reporting as of this January - 24 medicines, for 42 different cancer treatments, were available across the ditch, but not here.

Twelve treatment uses had a substantial clinical benefit -- including two aiming to cure blood cancer.

Since the analysis was completed, Pharmac has funded four of the medicines, for six different uses.

Meanwhile, 13 blood cancer medicines funded here, aren't available in Australia.
