New Zealand and Australia have some of the highest rates of breast cancer diagnoses in the world

New Zealand and Australia have some of the highest rates of breast cancer diagnoses in the world

New research has found one in every thousand Kiwi women are diagnosed a year - while South-Central Asia has one in every three thousand-700.

However, the study also reveals some positive news.

New Zealand and Australia's rate of breast cancer deaths are reducing by 2.1 percent per year - at the lower end of the scale globally.

It's close to the World Health Organisation's Global Breast Cancer Initiative goal of 2.5 percent.
