Nikki Glaser will return as host for the 2026 Golden Globe Awards

The 40-year-old comic took the reins for this year's ceremony in January, and her stint at the helm proved to be so successful, organisers have invited her back for next year and she joked she's hoping the high-profile gig will land her her dream job

Nikki said in a statement: "Hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career.

"I can't wait to do it again, and this time in front of the team from 'The White Lotus', who will finally recognise my talent and cast me in Season Four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past."

And Globes bosses are delighted to be bringing back Nikki - who was the first woman to host the ceremony solo - and her "sharp humour" for a second time.

Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, said: "Nikki Glaser brought a refreshing spark and fearless wit to the Golden Globes stage this year. Her sharp humour and bold presence set the tone for an unforgettable night, making the ceremony feel vibrant and most of all fun."

The stand-up star admitted shortly after the 2025 awards she expected to return for a second time, but admitted she'd hope to be paid a higher fee.

Referring to Jerrod Carmichael's admission he received $500,000 for hosting in 2023, Nikki said when asked by SiriusXM DJ Howard Stern how much she was paid: "There was a past host who said how much he got paid in his monologue. I got less than that.

"It's OK. I'll get more next year. I honestly would have done it for free, it's such an insane platform. ... [But] next time I'll ask for more money."

And asked if she thinks she'll be back, she said: "I can't imagine they wouldn't [ask me]. ... It's hard to find people to do these shows. ... [But] I would never be able to live with myself if I turned it down because I'm scared of bombing."

But weeks later, Nikki admitted she hadn't had a formal offer to return.

She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I keep seeing headlines that [say], 'She's got a deal to do three more [Golden Globes ceremonies]. I haven't heard about this [offer] yet."

But Glenn Weiss, the ex ecutive producer of the show, acknowledged that Nikki would be a "great" long-term host of the Golden Globes.

He told Variety: "We absolutely had a great experience with her, and think that she would be great at this in the long term."

Glenn admitted that he would "love" to continue working with Nikki.

Asked if the comedy star has already been asked to return in 2026, Glenn replied: "I can't talk officially for anything.

"I will say, as someone who produces and directs award shows, she really found her niche here, and I think it really worked out beautifully on this show. And I would love to see it continue."
