Blake Lively has gone through the "highest of highs and the lowest of lows" over the last year

The 37-year-old actress is currently suing her 'It Ends With Us' co-star and director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment and attempting to destroy her reputation, while he has hit back with a lawsuit accusing her of extortion and defamation, and though she admitted she couldn't speak specifically about the lawsuit, she is grateful to be in a position where she is able to speak out about her alleged treatment

Speaking on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers', she said: "What I can say without going too into it is that this year has been the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in my life and I see so many women around afraid to speak, especially right now, afraid to share their experiences, and fear is by design.

"It's what keeps us silent. But I also acknowledge that many people don't have the opportunity to speak.

"So I do feel fortunate that I've been able to and as a woman, you have the ability to use your voice - that's kept me strong and helped me in my belief and my fight for the world to be safer for women and girls. It's a pretty simple thing."

The 'Another Simple Favor' star praised her and Ryan Reynolds' four children, daughters James, 10, Inez, eight, Betty, five, and son Olin, two, for having been her "lifeline" during such an "intense" time.

She said: "It's no surprise it's been a pretty intense year and they're just my lifeline.

"No matter what day I am having, I have to be Disneyland for them. It's the best, it's chaos."

Blake's youngest child is "so romantic" and often tells her she is the "love of his life".

Asked if Olin is more loving than his sisters were at that age, she replied: "No, it's different. It's just different he just like announces that I'm the love of his life at all times, which is like just the best feeling in the world.

"I get dressed every day like a girl in middle school and I'm like, oh my gosh, I hope he says something."

Asked if her daughters criticise her outfits, she laughed: "Oh, yeah. One of my daughters has the same birthday as Napoleon and Jennifer Lawrence, so if you imagine those two blended.

"She's the funniest person in the world but she will definitely, like, rule the world with authoritarian leadership."
