New Zealand exporters will need to compete more on quality, than price, when the latest tariff hike from Donald Trump kick in on Friday

New Zealand exporters will need to compete more on quality, than price, when the latest tariff hike from Donald Trump kick in on Friday

Goods from New Zealand and several other countires now have 15-percent levies.

Many competing markets, like Australia, Argentina, Chile and the UK, are on 10-percent.

NZ Winegrowers Advocacy Manager, Sarah Wilson, says from a tariff perspective, Kiwi exporters will be disadvantaged.

She says our wine will need to trade on its distinctiveness and sustainability.
