    A serious incident in Matata has closed the intersection of Flax Rd and Matata Road State Highway 2 this afternoon


    Police were called about 3.50.

    One person is now custody in relation to the matter, and a person is in Whakatane Hospital in a moderate condition.

    Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
