Adam Sandler is grateful for his "very cool life"

The 59-year-old actor - who has daughters Sunny, 19, and Sadie, 16, with wife Jackie - is "more thankful" than ever for his life and career and couldn't be happier with where he is right now.

He told People magazine: "I'm just more thankful than I've ever been. Happy I got to do this life, happy all the people who've been with me during all this stuff, and helped me out, and [it's] just been a phenomenal time.

"My whole family's always been great to me. My wife and I talk about stuff, and what to do, and what to do next, and it's just been a very cool life."

Adam and Jackie, 51, met when she had a role in his 1999 movie Big Daddy, and he insisted they are still as "close" as ever, despite the passage of time.

He said: "We're very close. We like to talk, like to laugh, like to have fun, and like to think about things and take care of our kids."

While the Uncut Gems star is very happy with his life, he recently revealed he has not enjoyed the wardrobe for his Jay Kelly press tour after ditching his usual casual shorts and shirts ensembles for more formal suits.

He told Entertainment Tonight: "It's been horrendous. I don't like the feeling.

"I think I only have three different suits, and one of them I don't like.

"I can't stand the pants. I can't stand the jackets, the stupid shirts. Hate them all."

And even when complimented on his new look, he replied: "No ... Thank you."

Adam's Jay Kelly co-star George Clooney previously took the credit for his friend's new look and felt his pal looked much "nicer" as a result.

George told People magazine: "I actually [have] been making Adam wear suits. Don't you think he looks nicer instead of those big baggy shorts?

"I love him. He's the sweetest man in the world. He's a dear friend and the fact that I got to work with him again is [great]."

Adam previously admitted he finds it "funny as hell" that he has "unintentionally kind of become a style icon" to his fans.

He told Complex: "It's funny as hell. And whenever one of my kids or their friends talks to me about it... my wife's like, 'What the hell are we talking about right now? How did that happen?'

"But my wife [Jackie] always was nice to me about my clothes. Even when we were young, others would say, 'Would you put on something better than that? Your wife's dressed so beautifully.' My wife would say, 'He's comfortable like that. Let him do that. Leave him alone.' "
