Health professionals and a toxicologist will take the witness stand today, at double-murder accused Hakyung Lee's trial at the High Court in Auckland

Health professionals and a toxicologist will take the witness stand today, at double-murder accused Hakyung Lee's trial at the High Court in Auckland

The 45-year-old's accused of killing her children - six-year-old Minu and eight-year-old Yuna Jo - in 2018.

Their bodies were found in suitcases, after being hidden in a storage unit for four years.

Crown prosecutors argue Lee had murderous intent when she drugged her children with antidepressants, leading to their deaths.

But Lee's defence says she'd also attempted to take her own life, and was driven to insanity at the time following her husband's death.

Yesterday, the jury heard from detectives, the man who discovered the bodies, and the forensic pathologist.
