Trace Adkins has had so many false promises from Hollywood

The 62-year-old country music star - who has Tarah, 41, and Sarah. 39, with his first wife Barbara Lewis as well as Mackenzie, 26, Brianna,23, and 20-year-old Trinity with his third wife Rhonda Forlaw - had found out that Mackenzie had been through such a back-and-forth process with a casting director on Instagram and is pleased that she "learned" that not everything is always as it seems.

During a joint interview with his daughter, he told Fox News Digital: "I'm glad you've learned something. That's the way you have to always deal with everything Hollywood. Because, yeah, I've had so many things, and most of which I've forgotten about, but there have been so many, so many things in my career that were connected to Hollywood. And they never happened/

"They tell you, 'Oh, yeah, we're going to do this. We're going to do that, and it's this is moving along.' And then all of a sudden, one day you realise, well, I haven't heard from those people in six months. And it just went away."

Mackenzie explained to the 'I Left Something Turned on at Home' crooner that she had double-checked the validity of the show she was being interviewed for and then quickly moved out of the family home to star in the latest season of reality show 'Claim to Fame', so everything had turned out to be legitimate.

She said: "I looked it up, and I watched both the seasons and I made sure it was a real show. But I did, like, so many interviews, and I met so many different casting directors and ... producers were calling me, telling me, 'You're in the top 25, you're in the top 15, you've made the top couple; we're not sure yet.' So, I was like, I don't want to get that excited, and then it not happen."

Trace was "a little concerned" but assumed everything would be okay and then only found out what it was all about when he received a call halfway through the filming process.

He said: "I was, you know, a little concerned, but, you know, I assumed that if she was going to be with these people out there, that she would probably be OK.

"I thought she got kicked off the show because, you know, she wasn't going to have her phone. So, about halfway through, she called me, and I went, 'Oh no.'"
