A former Act Party president convicted of sexual offending has failed in a bid to clear his name

A former Act Party president convicted of sexual offending has failed in a bid to clear his name

Tim Jago was convicted in August last year of eight charges relating to two victims - including one under 16.

He was imprisoned for two and a half years - but denies the offending.

Jago took his convictions and sentence to the Court of Appeal, claiming one victim couldn't remember where the offending occurred, and procedural issues with the judge's summing up.

The court this afternoon rejected the appeal - and upheld the sentence.
