    A 54-year-old man's been charged with aggravated burglary and assault with a weapon in Wadestown yesterday


    Police were called to Wellington's Anne Street just after 12.30pm to reports a man with a long bladed weapon entered a property, and attempted to steal a car.

    After an almost two hour standoff a man was taken to hospital after being bitten by a police dog bite and shot at once by police.

    A man's been remanded in custody to appear in Wellington District Court on Thursday.
