We're on track to end the year with one of the lowest numbers of crash deaths in decades

We're on track to end the year with one of the lowest numbers of crash deaths in decades

The road toll stands at 268 - if it remains below 272, will be the second-lowest since the early 50s, behind 2013.

Safety campaigner Clive Matthew-Wilson says roadside fencing and median barriers could drop it down further.

He says Police need to focus on risky behaviours - not just ticketing and confiscating licenses.

Matthew-Wilson says they should be enforcing people who are not wearing seatbelts and those using cellphones in moving vehicles.
