A woman's been arrested for allegedly nicking nearly eight-thousand dollars worth of items during a retirement village burglary spree

The 60-year-old's been charged with three counts of burglary and two counts of being unlawfully in a building, relating to a day of thefts in West Auckland in late January.

Police allege five residents were targeted in their residences, with three losing expensive jewellery and cash.

Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Bunting says they're also looking into other recent burglaries at Auckland villages.

She appeared in the Waikato District Court today.
