Wellington doctors have done their best to ensure strike action doesn't hurt patients

GPs at five Wellington practices are striking today following a set of rolling strikes over the last few months.

Association of Salaried Medical Specialists Senior Industrial Officer Lloyd Woods says the employer's continued refusal to allow dentists to join the collective agreement is a huge problem.

He says it's something they hoped wouldn't become necessary but it is ... and it's a major problem.
