A precarious lead for the Black Caps after 15 wickets fell on a spin-dominated second day of the third and final cricket test against India in Mumbai

New Zealand were 171 for 9 in their second innings at stumps - as the visitors took an advantage of 143 runs.

Will Young top-scored with 51, while Glenn Phillips, Devon Conway and Daryl Mitchell were all out in the 20s - with Indian spin duo Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin combined for seven wickets.

The hosts had earlier posted 263 all out for a narrow first innings buffer of just 28 - with Ajaz Patel taking five wickets.

Last pair Ajaz Patel and Will O'Rourke will be at the crease for the Black Caps to start day three.
