Armed police have arrested a man in Dunedin following a three-hour standoff

Armed police have arrested a man in Dunedin following a three-hour standoff

Police say they were called to a property on Heriot Row about 12:40 this afternoon after a man was reported acting in a threatening manner.

Officers cordoned the street and stayed at the property to negotiate with the man, who they believed was alone.

They say the man has been taken into custody without incident and the road is reopened.
