Police are working to identify more vehicles and drivers involved in Saturday night's boy racer event in Auckland

Police are working to identify more vehicles and drivers involved in Saturday night's boy racer event in Auckland

Groups of vehicles were tracked to several locations across the city - involving Police vehicles and the Eagle helicopter.

Police say they breath tested more than two and a half thousand drivers - with more than 15 failing.

Officers issued a further 70 infringements, sent 71 vehicles for inspection, and impounded five vehicles.

Inspector Regan James says they witnessed burnouts and other driving offences, and they'll take further enforcement action where possible.
