The oil and gas exploration ban is expected to be repealed today

Parliament is planning on debating the third reading of the Bill, to formally overturn the ban put in place by the previous Government.

The coalition's expected to pass the Bill -- officially ticking off the second point on the Government's quarterly to-do list.

The Greens say it's one of the most irresponsible things the Government could do in a climate crisis.

Meanwhile Resources Minister Shane Jones is backing exploration in a bid to boost the economy.
