    A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Auckland's Point Chev before being involved in a multi vehicle crash just north of Auckland


    Police say the man allegedly tried to steal a car from an elderly woman before stealing a second vehicle.

    Two people have moderate injuries from the crash, including the arrested man.

    Charges are being considered for the 34-year-old.

    The motorway was closed to northbound traffic between Oteha Valley and Silverdale for about 4 hours.
