The boss of one of the country's biggest banks has revealed her own salary, as the company records a one-billion dollar profit this year

The boss of one of the country's biggest banks has revealed her own salary, as the company records a one-billion dollar profit this year

Westpac New Zealand's chief executive Catherine McGrath is being questioned by MPs at the Finance and Expenditure Banking Inquiry.

She says profit was up 10-percent year-on-year, driven by impairments being less than expected.

McGrath says there are four staff, including herself, who earn over a million dollars a year.

She says she earns two-million dollars -- one million in a fixed salary, 340-thousand in a cash bonus, and the rest in a deferred bonus.
