Demi Moore thinks it's important to celebrate "all that we are"

The 62-year-old movie star won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, for her performance in 'The Substance', and Demi subsequently reflected on the central theme of the body horror film

The Hollywood star - who plays a fading celebrity who uses a black market drug to create a younger version of herself in the film - said backstage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (05.01.25): "We can spend our time on focusing on all that we're not, or we can be celebrating all that we are. I think it's subtle shift."

Demi was once told by a manager that she was just a "popcorn actress". But the film star has always seen herself as so much more than that and she's been determined to project her inner belief "out in the world".

The actress - who starred in 'The Substance' alongside Dennis Quaid and Margaret Qualley - explained: "All we have to look at is what we're choosing to buy into. Because it exists doesn't make it the truth.

"I think it all goes back to how we hold ourselves. And when we value ourselves, we have enough self-love that will then reflect out in the world, and the world can follow and change to accommodate how you're reflecting on yourself."

Meanwhile, Demi admitted in her acceptance speech that she was "humbled" by the award.

The actress said on stage: "I really wasn't expecting that. I'm just in shock right now.

"I've been doing this a long time, like over 45 years, and this is the first time I've ever won anything as an actor. I'm just so humbled and so grateful."
