The Reserve Bank doesn't expect New Zealand's low productivity to pick up in the near future

The Reserve Bank doesn't expect New Zealand's low productivity to pick up in the near future

It expects the economy to recover slowly - boosted by high beef and dairy prices and a low Kiwi dollar.

But productivity remains an ongoing concern.

Governor Adrian Orr says we need to change up how we do things.

He says New Zealand's economic growth in recent decades has generally been driven by immigration, and the country needs to invest more in technology and people.
